AOSTA – MINI JAMBOREE: There will be an Aosta Mini Jamboree at the Hazel Tree on Thursday, May 26 at 7pm. The wellknown popular musician Eddie O'Gorman will supply the music on the night. The cost of the night including refreshments will be €10. Anyone interested should Contact Sr. Helen at Mercy House immediately.
BOWLING NEWS: Results from the Denis Horgan Bowling Club's Jackie Daly Shield Competition, Maurice Cashman and Liam Casey beat Danny Murphy and Damien Leonard by a bowl of odds. Paddy O'Keeffe and John Breen beat Dean Sexton and Ellen Sexton for the last shot and beat Tadgh Sexton and Johnny O'Riordan by a bowl of odds.

KANTURK SOCCER CLUB LOTTO DRAW: There was no winner last week of the Jackpot in the Kanturk Soccer Clubs weekly Lotto Draw. The numbers drawn were 13, 29, 2, 6 and the Bonus Number was 21 .
The winner of the bonus number draw was Aidan Wallace, Edel Quinn Place. Lucky Dip winners were Nancy Buckley Burtons Place, Eilish Withers Banteer, John Geaney Market Place, Eamon O'Neill Olivers Place, Tony Jones The Alley Bar, Valerie O'Keeffe Market Place. KANTURK FLOWER AND GARDEN CLUB: Kanturk Flower and Garden Club will have their annual outing on Sunday, June 12, where they will tour East Cork Gardens. They will visit Beachwood which is an NGA award winning garden set on a sloping one acre site. It features a large water feature scree beds and herbaceous planting which featured on RTE garden show.
They will also visit Ringfield House. This is a garden with huge range of Camellias, Rhododendrons and Azaleas. This garden has a formal Victorian Garden and an informal Fern Garden.
Morning Tea and Coffee will be served in the garden. Then on to the Old Deanery in Cloyne. This is a four acre garden set in parkland and woodland walks with walled kitchen garden, pond and mixed bordered. To end off the day there will be a three course meal in the Radisson Blue. FIRST YEAR GIRLS THROUGH TO ALL-IRELAND SEMI-FINAL: Congratulations to the First Year Girls of Scoil Mhuire who defeated three teams in the First year Girls Basketball All-Ireland play offs in Waterford last Saturday.
The teams defeated by the Scoil Mhuire students were Presentation School Waterford, Pobal Scoil Iathar Sceine Kenmare and Mount Temple Dublin. The girls will now play in the All-Ireland semifinal in UL next Wednesday, May 18 and the final will be played on the same day.

ATHLETICS WIN: Well done to Tomas O'Neill First Year student at Scoil Mhuire on winning the junior hammer competition at the South Munster Schools Athletics.
TRANSITION YEAR SCHOOL TRIP TO ITALY: Scoil Mhuire Transition Year students and some Fifth Year students accompanied by their teachers, embarked on the annual school tour recently. The tour took in Venice, Verona and Lake Garda.
The group was blessed with the weather for the entire trip, making the gondola rides in Venice and the motorboat trip on Lake Gards particularly enjoyable. The students also spent a day in Gardaland, Italy's premier theme park and a great time was had by all.
KANTURK CYCLING CLUB: Kanturk Cycling Club ran a very successful 3-Day race over the May Bank Holiday weekend when over 600 cyclists and their families stayed in the local area and dined in the local restaurants as well as visiting the local shops.
Following 3 days of hard racing, Dillon Corkery, from the Kanturk Club won all 3 Races taking home The Denis & Eugene O'Connell Memorial Cup in the under 12 section, The Brian Enright memorial cup went to Michael O'Loughlin from Carrick an Suir in the under 14 and The Connie O'Callaghan memorial Trophy went to Mark Downey from Banbridge Under 16.
The Senior race was won by Damien Shaw from Mullingar and he took home The Curtin & O'Donaghue Memorial Cup. The 3day was a great success again this year and a very special thanks to the Gardai and Ambulance Crew without whom it would not be possible to run the race. Thanks also to the motorbike stewards and past and present members of the Club who helped in any way.
The Under 16 riders from Kanturk had big plans for the race as it was part of the 6 Olympic qualifying races where 6 riders would be selected to go to England where only 3 riders would be selected to represent Ireland at the European Youth Olympics in Turkey.
Eddie Dunbar from the Kanturk Club was one of the six riders who qualified to go to England and last weekend he was one of the 3 riders selected to represent Ireland in Turkey following the final race in England. This is the third time the Club has had a member representing Ireland at these Olympics, Will Curtin represented Ireland in Portugal & Barry Meade represented his country in Denmark, We wish Eddie every success and most of all we wish him an enjoyable trip.
EUROPEAN EXCHANGE STUDENTS CULTURAL DAY OUT: Scoil Mhuire's three European exchange studentsMichaela Porypankova and Matus Gic from Slovakia and Kathrina Boymanns from Germany took in a whisle-stop tour of the west of Ireland during the Easter break accompanied by teacher Susan Hartnett. They enjoyed fabulous weather on their outing which showed off the sites to their best. Among the attractions visited were Lahinch Beach, the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and Galway City.
KANTURK AFC: Kanturk AFC Social will be held in Kanturk Rugby Pavillon on Saturday, May 28. Tickets are €20 and DJ Cal will be providing the music. A big screen will be provided to show the Champions League Final.
Results U11's Kanturk lost 7-0 away to title contenders Watergrass Hill United. U12's Won 6-1 away to Watergrasshill last friday night with 3 goals from Daniel Murphy, Jordan Fullerton, Chris Mullane and Stephen Jones scoring one each. U14's drew their final game of the season at home to Churchvilla (Cloyne) 2-2 with goals from Faft Komonski and Darren Browne. The U16's had a fantastic away win over Everton to clinch promotion.Con McAuliffe got the opener on 60 minute and Stephen Tobin made sure with teh last kick of the game.
Rory O'Regan and James Fitzpatrick were immense in defence throughtout. The U16's lost 2-1 away to Bandon in their last game of teh season but the result didn't matter as our boys had secured promotion earlier in the week. The U11's lost 4-2 at home to Kinsale having led 2-0 at half time. Scorers were Cathal Browne and Conor O'Donoghue.
